Well, it's official! Peston turned 1 this past Saturday! No more babies in the Grice house... :-(
We had a nice little party for Preston, but he was a bit overwhelmed by all the stares! In fact, when it came time for him to dig into the cake, he had absolutely no interest at all. He eventually reached a tentative finger out and got a bit of frosting, but that was about it. We helped by pushing his hand into the cake -- he didn't like that too much. Big brother McCord helped to blow the candle out and kept wondering why it wasn't his birthday yet.
Preston's new trick on his birthday was that he took his first journey up a few stairs (with Pirate McCord right by his side). Guess it's time to put all the gates back up.
